I am extremely displeased with the services rendered and believe I have been overcharged. Here is a timeline of the day, Friday, September 22, 2023:
12pm - two movers arrived with a truck, I walked them around to advise on what to pack and what to prioritize
1:30pm - I received a call from one of the movers saying they packed all they could in their allotted 1.5 hours and were headed over to unload
1.5 hours
1:40pm - I called them back to ensure they were going to the right address as navigation can be tricky with my new address, and they redirected.
The drive from my old address to new should have taken .75 hours at most
2:30pm - the movers arrived at my location to unload with a 2/3 full truck
3:45pm - the movers were finished unloading and left
1.25 hours
Besides drive time from your depot, the total time charged should be 3.5 hours.
In addition to this, I was shocked to see the truck was only 2/3 full upon arrival. Two able-bodied people with 1.5 hours should have been able to fill the truck completely.

I’ve had many movers in the past, and moving fellows unfortunately were just terrible. They were nice guys but not too professional and not very efficient. They were extremely slow, where one would just stand there and watch the other guy. I had to keep pressuring them that I only had the freight elevator for so long in our apartment building. If we lost the freight elevator, then we would be screwed since we were moving from a high rise into pods. I have NEVER had to help movers move stuff to barely finish in time. I was walking fast back and forth, loading and unloading as much as I could alongside them. They would occasionally dare each other to lift heavy objects a bit immaturely. Additionally, they lifted a very heavy box overhead and slammed it down on top of a stack of other boxes. The box it directly fell on immediately was crushed and broke apart. I am hoping none of my ceramics or glasses were in that box….. they also dropped my kitchen table, which is very valuable to me. It’s a hand made, live edge resin poured table. I had that and other furniture wrapped up with blankets and packing wrap that I prepared before the movers came. They did not use any of the extra wrap that they made me pay for beforehand. I assumed they would help wrap furniture, but nope they just slowly moved (and dropped) things into the pods. If that wasn’t enough, they also were extremely inexperienced in moving into pods. They said they hadn’t done it before, or maybe once before. So they did not listen to me in what I wanted ratcheted down, I had to have them rearrange things several times, like they had a giant stack of fragile boxes on the very top that would’ve easily all fallen off the tall stack and broken for sure if I hadn’t asked them to rearrange that. All in all, they were not careful and I wish I had never gone with them. They were the slowest moving people ever, and I’d be fine with that if it weren’t for the fact that I could only reserve the elevator for a max amount of time. I kept telling them to hurry, and they kept saying they were all good, and had plenty of time, but continually underestimated the contents of my 700 sq ft apartment even with my hurried sense of urgency and personal labor in helping them move my own things a lot. After the matter, I am most regretful about my furniture and boxes. Our pods are being shipped across country, and I had personally wrapped up my furniture, so I won’t know how bad things broke or not. Again, nice people but just lack experience, maturity, care, and any sense of urgency or purpose whatsoever. Literally one of them always just stood there while the other moved things. It was very painful to watch.

-edit: I moved less than a week ago, thanks for the response but unfortunately I don’t know how anything can be made right since I care more about my things than the cost/money

My partner and I were doing our first big move and were quite nervous, but our movers (Tino and Angelo) made the experience so easy and quick - we moved 2 hours under the estimate I was originally given. They were careful with our things and mindful of the walls and doorframes. We were worried about filling up the truck, but they packed it well with room to spare! Both of them had great attitudes and were so easy to work with, thanks again!!
