Hassle working with these people. The ordering process was challenging enough but I was hopeful once the installers arrived. Not much notice ahead of install after waiting 3 mos for the awning to get fabricated. The install took much of the entire day and the end product was not closing fully - leaving a 6" overhang beyond the housing. The installers ran out of daylight and promised they would return to fix/address when they were back in the area in a few weeks. Never happened. Few months out, metal and plastic bits started falling off the motorized awning - still under warranty. Reaching out to Carolina Awnings for warranty support -- by phone, email, text -- yielded only message taking - no follow up. It was a sheer hassle calling weekly just trying to get someone to at least get me on schedule for a repair - even after talking with owner/Graham. Have to wait until they happen to be passing thru your part of the State. Over a year later, they sent a rep who was only capable of giving it a light visual inspection - collected the metal and plastic bits that fell of and promised to send someone else - we remain with no improvements/corrections (in my case, the awning was still sitting 6" outside the housing - not rolling fully inside the cartridge and the side guide/cover kept falling off. Another 7 months pass and nothing. I put up with this because I couldn't locate another awning company - until I did. Turns out there IS a company who not only had a live, responsive reps, but they scheduled me for <7 days out, showed up, get me on the schedule but showed up in under a week from my call, fixed several small issues in less than 10min with an adjustment to the controller settings and the arms of the awning. I'm wondering, why couldn't Carolina Awnings provide the same care/response? I spent over $8K with Carolina Awnings - and had to wait months, being treated like a burden just to get someone to move on this issue and their response/support was as good as if they never showed up at all. Again - time it took to do the necessary repairs: UNDER 10 minutes. Yeah, won't be bothering with Carolina Awnings anymore. I have a feeling, once word gets out about the 'other' (more competent, attentive, responsive, skilled company,) they will get all the business they can handle. Capitalism works.

August 2018 had them put a metal roof over our back porch. They came back many (8) times for the roof leaking. We made many phone calls sometimes we called each month for 4 months before they came out. They no showed 4 different times. 13 months later we asked for partial refund or for them to fix it. Haven't heard from them since September 2019. Beware!!!!!

We knew absolutely nothing about car ports or what we needed. Called and talked to Sal, he was very helpful and worked with us as we made decisions. There was a snafu while things proceeded while we were on vacation halfway across the country and had basically no phone reception, but we worked it out and got the install done after we returned. They were very helpful throughout the whole process and even with the delay while we were on vacation, they were still done before the original quoted time. Install was finished just about an hour ago and we couldn't be happier! Its exactly what we wanted and they were very patient with us throughout the process.
