Words can't express the level of appreciation for Noah and his team. They went above and beyond to make sure I was able to get the trailer I needed when I needed it.

Austin Rent Way is a family-owned Austin staple. Kevin, the owner, and Noah, his son, are knowledgeable and always willing to help / answer any of your questions. They go above and beyond in everything they do. Couldn’t recommend more.

This place needs new management before someone gets seriously injured as a result of their poor workmanship.

I rented a car hauler from them as a weekly rental. One of the 4 tires on the trailer was a different size than all of the others, which they fixed after I asked them to before I left.

The trailer was severely damaged, but I didn't notice anything at first that would actually prevent me from getting the job done that I needed to do. Until I realize that the lights weren't actually working, but at that point I had driven it off and it was too late to get fixed. So I bought some removable magnetic lights and attached them instead so I could still get to work.

Then I realized that one of the boards on the floor of the trailer was so damaged that I couldn't safely drive anything on to it. I put a 2x4 in it's place just to get by.

I was driving about 45 mph down the road when one of the hinges from the ramps came undone, causing the ramp to fall down, drag on the concrete, rip out the pin holding it upright, and fall off onto the street. It's a miracle it didn't cause an accident.

I got the ramp out of the street and loaded it onto the trailer. When I checked the ramp that was still intact I found that it was held in place by an old scrap bolt with a small nut that wasn't the correct size and couldn't be tightened. I gave it a few twists with my fingers and it came right off.

I returned the trailer because it was unusable. They listened to the problems when I explained them but were unapologetic. Noah, the manager, was shaking like a leaf when he told me they were going to take 60% off the price of my rental but not offer a refund.

This place has been around for a long time, and I hope they start to take safety and quality more seriously, not just for the sake of their business but for the safety of people on the same roadways as their equipment.

-- Edit in response to the response from the owner --
The only true statement in this entire response is that I did attempt to use the trailer, only to have it go south on me. Everything else is completely false.

"The trailer lights worked and the ramps were secure". First off, nobody from your crew tested the lights before I left. I didn't test them either, which was a mistake. Unless someone climbed into my vehicle to test them without me noticing then there's no way anyone tested them before I left. I guess you're taking the stance that I'm making this all up, but you can't say you know the lights were working. Secondly, you and I have very different definitions of what "secure" means in terms of the ramps being attached. You didn't say a word in your response that mentioned the scrap bolt with the wrong sized nut that was used to hold the ramp hinge in place. It's negligent, and it's a pathetic excuse for safety.

With regards to me having the trailer for 5 days without mishaps, I rented the trailer Friday afternoon because you're only open until noon on Saturday and closed on Sundays and I needed it early Monday. So I began using the trailer Monday. The lights didn't work then, and after I attached temporary lights I drove the trailer. Partway into traveling with it is when things really started to go awry. I got back Tuesday evening and brought it home the next day.

I did insist on a refund, after running through the long list of issues I had and explaining the dangers of it all. I didn't mumble anything about taking you to court, I looked at you and told you exactly what's going to happen. I'm challenging the charge with my credit card company and if that doesn't work I'll recover the charges in court. I wasn't asked to leave, don't try to try to spin it into sounding like an aggressive situation. I didn't even raise my voice for a split second. You told me that the amount would stay the same, said you were going to print a receipt, I waited for it, you handed it to me, I folded it and put it in my pocket, and you slammed the door behind me. I understand you're scared of confrontation but don't twist it into something it wasn't.

I've used them many times over the years. Equipment is not new but they don't charge the huge amounts the other guys do for the new machines either. Equipment still gets the job done. Always been helpful and even gone out of their way to help at times. Thank you Austin Rent Way for helping me build my business over the years.
