This company should remove professional from its name. We had them paint the exterior of our home. Their contract states that they will do a whole list of items to prepare the house for painting. This list included hand washing the exterior, setting nails, scraping, and sanding. They only do these things if you stay on top of them. Hand washing never happened. They state that the job site will be cleaned during and after the completion of the project. This didn't happen. Materials (ladders, painting rig, trash, etc. were left in our yard every day of the 5 days they were here. We still have masking tape on our roof line. They didn't respect the landscaping, hoses or personal property. After reading so many good reviews, I was shocked to get such an unprofessional crew. Maybe it's luck of the draw or unlucky in this case. I would not use them again and recommend that you find someone else to do your painting.

Follow up to business owner response:
I received a call from Mr. Contreras' assistant as soon as I posted my negative review stating that the owner would like to meet with me. I asked to what end, the job had been bungled and I didn't see any reason to continue our relationship. She said she didn't know what he wanted but would find out.

A few minutes later, John the owner calls. He tells me that he's thinking of firing his crew, can't take payment for a job not well done. Continues for about 15 minutes telling me how great his company is. I reminded him that he had been copied on almost every email that I sent to his project manager and the only reason for any surprises would be that he wasn't engaged. He said that he was considering a refund and would talk to his crew and get back to me in a few days. Never heard back, my second check was cashed the next day after our conversation, and the only communication was his response to my review.

This company’s idea of making things right is wearing you down until you want them off of your property. I'm still pulling masking tape off of my house (which I told John about in our phone conversation), picking up cigarette butts, and finding over spray on my brick.

I double down on recommending that you find someone else for your project.

Wish I would have listen to Brads review. Same thing happened to me. Please see the quality John Contreras thinks is great. I told him no this is not 5,000 dollars worth and he just argued with me. The contract states to power wash and sand, which they didn’t do . Just want everyone to see what you’re going to get when you go with these guys. Overly priced and not good quality. Stay away

Austin Professional Painting does a great, professional job for a very reasonable price.

I have used them several times over the last few years (complete interior and exterior of our primary residence and a rental property) and they have done an excellent job.

You might be able to get your job done for less, but I doubt it will look as good as hiring APP. They are also efficient and clean up the job site well. We are very happy with their service and will use them again in the future if we ever have a need!

The "Project Manager" Carlos Gutierrez was scheduled to come and give me a quote, and when he showed up, he said the project was too small. I needed the back exterior second story of my home painted. Could have been easy money for them, but they're trying to get 20-30k painting quotes/jobs. I would question a business that only wants to do big jobs. Austin Professional Painting needs to take the "Professional" from its name.

If you value your home and its contents, stay far away from Austin Professional Painting. In the process of doing what was a small job over Labor Day weekend they:
-damaged the wood blades of an expensive ceiling fan in the main living area. (The blades/fan must now be replaced.)
-left weird paint areas in the living room ceiling they painted. (They also originally painted the ceiling the wrong color.)
-destroyed an entire overhead garage door opener mechanism.
-left a garage, and its contents full of dust. (So full of dust I can't use it without tracking stuff all through my home, Also damaging other garage contents.)
-left many of my personal items out in the rain that are now ruined.
-lax supervision of the crew, from John their supervisor, who was to arrive with the crew to define the scope of work and start the project.
-they are insured, but John stated he has blocked their insurance company from dealing with the damage to my home unless I remove this review.
-John also actually made verbal threats against me last week for my negative review, causing me to be concerned about my and my family's personal safety.
-on the upside, they have a very nice receptionist
