Jeff and Nate are the most professional and honest contractors I've ever worked with. Hands down, my finished product is exactly what I expected with no hassle and hustle. Professional, honest, and ethical are all words you want to hear when making a major capital investment such as building a pool.

My wife and I don't have enough good things to say about Athena Pools and their work!

Overall

We have a 17-year-old multilevel pool that had developed multiple issues. Jeff assessed the problems and developed a comprehensive proposal. His explanations and our interactions were respectful and first-rate. Jeff spent considerable time on site, coordinating the multiple crews, and ensuring the work was done to his (and our) satisfaction. We cannot recommend Athena pools and Jeff more highly - our pool is now functioning spectacularly, as if it is brand-new.

We desired a small cocktail pool (10ft x 20ft) for our custom home build. I had heard the Athena name from a mortgage broker and several builders. I'm an engineer, and learning that Jeff is also an engineer was a good sign for me.
Athena's approach leans toward designing beyond minimum standards so that they never have to get a warranty call. Their crews were all top-notch and personally supervised by either Jeff or Nate. This effort is reflected in the excellent quality of every aspect of the installation, from the gunite to equipment to pool decking and finishes.
I particularly appreciated the prompt responses to any and all of our questions, and making sure that we were satisfied with any issues that needed addressing.
Athena was not our lowest bid, but they were in the same ballpark with some of the national names that most people are familiar with. A quick Yelp search of the big names will reveal a litany of horror stories about cracks, leaks and an unresponsive or defensive vendor. I doubt you can find such a review about Athena.
Needless to say, we are extremely happy with the service and the product, and we love our new pool!

Jeff is an exceptional pool builder. He spent serveral weeks with us going back and forth to achieve the optimal design for our desires. He managed to maximize our space (odd shaped back yard) giving us what we wanted: A large pool with a substantial play area and a long lap lane for exercise purposes.

Most importantly, he made sure that we had solid engineering construction for our pool size (about 33K gallons, ~170 linear feet), strongly recommending a double mat rebar construction with 12 inch walls. Nobody else even mentioned that. When I asked other pool builders, I was told "not to worry about it". Well, I'd rather spend the extra money up front than dealing with a cracked pool shell later. He even commissioned an engineering survey to confirm before breaking ground.

The equipment is top notch. Pool pump and heater are working beautifully giving us the clearest water we've ever seen in a pool while maintaining the temp at 80 degrees when needed. We were guided expertly through the materials process and features (plastering, tile, travertine, water features, autofill) to achieve the end result we wanted.

He also recommended a great pool maintenance company that takes care of all our ongoing needs. He was responsive throughout and supervised the pool building from start to finish. He made sure everything was done to our satisfaction down to the smallest detail.
