From beginning to end, the Gulf Coast team was professional and pleasant to work with. They came out with a sense of urgency and helped answer all of our questions. Ultimately, we had them install a mix of Tapco hurricane screens and Lexan and aluminum panels to protect 30+ windows on the older home we've been renovating for over a year. They were patient when we wanted to see samples (even though we had our young, restless kids in tow...they let them roll around the office in their chairs without batting an eye). I had my two story house fitted with Lexan and metal Hurrican shutters in 2009. Several years later, not wishing to use the high ladder for the upper floor windows and getting too old, , I had Hurrican screens placed on the upper floor windows and a roll down over the master bedroom windows. The installers in both cases were great. Several years after this upgrade, there was a problem with one of the screens. Gulf Coast came out and repaired it without cost. Two years ago I had several windows and an outside wall replaced. Those contractors replaced the storm shutter bolts. However, when I tried to place the first story shutters recently, they would not fit according to the master diagram I had been given. Gulf Coast came over to trouble shoot and soon noted the bolts were placed wrong by the construction company who replaced the windows. The Gulf Coast technicians took out the old bolts, and replaced them properly. He caulked the open holes, He made sure all the shutters fit, were numbered properly and stored them in my garage. This was done at NO cost!!!!
I was told this is a family business, and once a customer, they want to keep you and your good will. They certainly have it. Great Job !!!

Consummate Professionals of the highest quality, from the first meeting with Ryan all the way through to the final installation with Jim and his team. They installed the hardware with impeccable craftsmanship, were patient explaining how to attach the panels, and were courteous throughout the process. All panels are very easily assembled prior to a storm. Strongest recommendation to use their services to protect your house from a potential hurricane.

I called this company for a free quote, and one of the two gentleman that showed up at my door was dressed so unprofessional that my husband asked me to cancel the appointment. I'm sure he is very proud of his ink, but it is not a great look when showing up to someone's home. Super short shorts, tank top, and flip flops!

We have had Tapco screens and one large rollup shutter over a triple patio door since 2016. The screens and shutter held up well during hurricane Harvey in 2017 except for the custom frame finish on the screens. It did not hold up well and peeled off in the high winds. Jim Barker's solution was to drop off a can of spray paint, suggesting WE tape off the screen on a calm, dry day before spraying the frames. In addition, he was also unable to resolve our not being able to open the rollup shutter during the power outage after the storm. Both issues remain unacceptable to this day. We overcame the shutter issue by installing a home standby generator but haven't hired someone to refinish the screens for us. Our bay window is the first photo on their website, taken right after the installation. The products are fine, but Gulf Coast needs serious tweaking on their customer service after the sale.
