READ THE FINE PRINT!!!! They auto renewed my 3 year long contract because I did not notify them within the 60 days of my contract ending. So now a 3 year contract has turned into 6. Honestly, the quality of camera isn’t that good either. I replaced the doorbell camera with my own. My main driveway camera picture was too grainy to even make out a car plate that reversed into my driveway. Save the headache and avoid this company.

I just got off the phone with the retention team at Amp Smart, and I couldn't be more disappointed. I originally signed up in 2018 under a three-year agreement. When I called in 2021, I spoke with a representative about upgrading my equipment. They confirmed I was out of contract and could secure a better deal with new equipment if I renewed. Not once was it mentioned that my original contract had an auto-renewal clause.
Fast forward to today when I called to cancel my service. Instead of a straightforward cancellation, I was subjected to the typical "we value your business" script. However, when I insisted on canceling, they informed me that my auto-renewal had just kicked in. My options? Either pay for the next 12 months or pay upfront to escape this so-called renewal contract.
This is completely unacceptable. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the rep transferred me to a peer rep, who repeated the same scripted speech. When I requested to speak with their supervisor, I was told that there was no one higher, and their supervisor doesn't deal with customers—apparently, it's not part of their job description. Fascinating. You lead a retention team, yet never interact with the very customers you're supposed to retain? No wonder Amp Smart’s Google and Yelp ratings are worse than those of traditional cable companies.
I simply wanted to cancel. Had the process been smooth, I might have considered returning in the future. But after this experience, there's less than a zero percent chance I'd ever do business with Amp Smart again.
I sincerely hope someone from Amp Smart reads this and realizes that this is not the way to treat customers. I don’t appreciate being trapped and taken advantage of under the guise of "it's Texas law to auto-renew for your protection." That's simply BS. We all know it's just a way for the company to handcuff customers. And trust me, that does not create raving fans.

In short: horrible customer service, service doesn’t work well, they leave out details, raise your bill often and then charges an unreasonable termination fee.
We had amp smart at our old house. For the price it worked decent. Suited our needs. Kept it long enough to pay off the equipment and only had to pay the monthly monitoring fee. We moved. We didn’t get an option to move equipment, but we would get all new equipment “VIP”. The catch, extended contract. I don’t recall that part either but it was a while ago. However, we’ve had nothing but issues. We try and get a tech out, and have to pay a fee because we are “out of service area”. Not told that at move time. Service also doesn’t work half the time. It has become unsafe not being able to access the cameras when notifications go off that someone is on our porch. We have no choice but to go with a different company and they argue that we owe a termination fee. But the math doesn’t work. Even though we have had the company over 5 years, the amount we owe is $8 lower than the maximum fee. Also it goes off your bill amount so when they inevitably raise my bill again (happens on average every year and we are approaching the new year) then the termination fee would actually increase. The “supervisor” would not stop interrupting me and refused to let me speak to her
boss then hung out on me.
