We thought long and hard about installing a privacy fence to replace a chain link fence on our corner lot. When we got our first estimate, we thought even longer and harder. Months passed and we contacted a few other places, but only two responded. The first business sent out a salesman type who gave a fair estimate. But they seemed reluctant, not invested, and almost like they didn't take us seriously (I understand...they probably deal with a lot of sticker-shocked people, but we had done our research and saved our pennies!)
The second person to respond was James Walker. He first gave us an estimate online when I shared the approximate perimeter of our yard. Then he came out for an in-person estimate. James is quiet, laid back, and professional. He listened carefully to our concerns and answered our multitude of questions. He explained what materials he uses and the process. He even took the time to show us the nails he uses in his nail gun. Even though his estimate was a little more than the aforementioned salesman-y guy, we decided that James was the man for the job, simply because he listened to us and explaind everything. He was prompt in sending us the contract and putting us on his schedule as close to our time frame as possible (a few months past his estimate date). I texted him a week prior to the planned date, and he was still on schedule and ready to start. He worked alone mostly, from Wednesday-Tuesday, exactly as he told us--even on Saturday and Sunday. We could easily tell that he had a lot of pride in his work and was dedicated making our fence look great. This was a big investment for us, and James valued this. James also told several times how much he appreciated our business. We enjoyed chatting with him and hearing his input and perspective, informed by years of experience.
James is incredibly busy...like all small businesses, he has a lot to keep up with by himself. We appreciated his responsiveness via email, text, and phone. We also appreciated how many questions he asked us about what we wanted. We are so pleased with the finished product and highly recommend A Walker Fence. Thanks James!

Had James out to do a perimeter chain link fence for us a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic. If you're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and knows good craftmanship then give James a call. We had a great experience from the start, he was responsive and upfront about the timing and kept to the timeline. I appreciated that he came to bid the job and would also be doing the work, which meant that I could trust he knew my concerns and would address them exactly as we discussed. We actually had lower bids come in (they were kind enough to match), but ultimately it wasn't about price it was about quality. If I ever need anything done on my fence again they will be the first and only company I call.

He was dedicated to getting every detail right and the finished fence, both back and front yard, looks amazing! We've gotten multiple compliments from our neighbors as well!
