1st time shopping at Richmond VA store. Spoke with Wendy, so pleasant and nice, getting the help I needed could not have been easier. She was very knowledgeable about her inventory and how to get what I needed shipped for free to that store. I will do a pick up when it arrives. I would enjoy browsing a tool store way more than a mall. Northern Tools in Richmond is a great place to shop (or browse) and everyone’s always ready to help when needed. 2 ?s up.

Customer service is not their strong point. Asked the lady at the front a question and she acted like I was bothering her . Same goes for the dude stocking shelves. They act like your bothering them and they don't wanna talk to you or help at all

Short story: went to Northern to get a birthday present for my husband. I encountered salespeople who were lovely. One was not, rude and not helpful. Of course he was the one available to help me. I went home and ordered it online. I was planning to buy other gifts which I had in my shopping cart. I put them back and ordered online. This is why retail stores are closing!

These days, many times the only interaction you have with store personnel is when you check out at the register. Too many times, the individual who is behind the register is conspicuously lacking in customer service skills. In my recent experience at northern, the lady behind the register as well as the manager who came over to assist when the register quit working suddenly were both outstanding in terms of being personable and helpful. That goes a long way in ensuring that customers have a good experience, and look forward to the opportunity to shop at a store again.

Easy to get in and out. Didn't see any employees walking around when I was looking for pressure washer fittings, but I asked the guys at the registers and he walked me over to the product and came with me outside so I could try the fitting on my pressure washer. No wait and no crowd.
