Clint and his team were great! We had the trim on our house painted and his team was very professional and great to work with. The price was definitely fair too! We will be using them again for all of our painting needs!

Clinton and crew from Scribner & Sons Painting are professional, on time, honest, responsive, and overall do quality work. They are our go-to painting crew when painting houses! They recently just finished an interior amd exterior full residential paint and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the end result.

Scribner and Sons painting does not adhere to the letter, intent, or the spirt of their contract. Our House siding is 39 years old. It had a worn stain on it and in some places the stain was gone and it was bare cedar siding. All of this was known to Scribner and Sons when they estimated our job. They also knew we would be getting new windows and doors before they would be painting our house. In their contract it stats under the section Labeled
Preparation:
"Washing" which they did pressure wash to an adequate degree but I did go back and do some more after them in areas they missed. I felt that maybe I did not communicate clearly enough with them because there was an area that could not be pressure washed due to water damage to the items inside and I think there was confusion there.
"Caulking" We were originally scheduled to get our house painted last fall but as is always the case with remodels due to a product delay our schedule fell behind. They felt it was best to wait till spring 2024 since it was getting close to November. We agreed but wanted the caulking done on the new window trim to happen now to protect that area. That turned into a a day and a 1/2 argument and we had to threaten to fire them. (And we have the texts to prove that point) before they complied. I wanted to end our association then and there but my wife was worried we would struggle to get our deposit back which was over 3400 dollars. Once work resumed in the spring they did a good job caulking the rest of the house.
"Scraping" When they did come in the spring they did some scraping on the 1st day but it was minimal and in our opinion a better job could have been done.
"Sanding" It stats "To de gloss where necessary to promote adhesion" even though they KNEW they were dealing with 39 year old siding some of it exposed weathered bare wood ZERO sanding was done. We did not expect them to sand the entire house but it is a best practice in the industry (and I have spoken to other professional painters) to sand bare wood that has been exposed to the eliminates. We estimate they would have needed to do this to no more than 20% of the entire house and less than 5% of the garage.
"Priming" It stats "spot prime where bare using peel Bond. #1 on the market" We take that term "where bare" to mean bare wood. All trim around all 13 windows were bare wood, plus the 20% of the house siding previously mentioned as well as the new siding, facias, and one window sill we installed on the house and garage prior to their coming to do the job. All of which they were aware of prior to the job starting. Out of all of that only the trim on two windows were primed on day 1 because I mentioned they had a little surface mold on them. No other primer was applied anywhere. Again I have checked with other professionals on this matter and it is standard practice to apply primer to all bare wood even if the paint you are using has a primer in it.
Additionally one has to ask why put such things in your contract if you have no intention of performing the work.
The end result as you can see in the pictures is the paint looks blotchy in areas where the old siding was bare wood and you can see a difference in the color between the new siding and the siding that had stain on it.
When we asked for these issues to be resolved in some way we were met with hostility and refusal.

I hired Scribner and Sons painting to do some rooms at my Mom’s house before putting the house on the market. Clinton came out and provided me with a bid to paint 3 bedrooms, blend in the areas in the living room and family room that needed attention. I am extremely pleased with how the interior paint turned out. He went above and beyond as he also ended up moving the furniture that he needed to work around, saving me the time on getting the rooms ready. It was much appreciated, and he cleaned up to where you wouldn’t have known he’d been there.

Recently we hired Scribner & Sons Painting to paint our rental house. I had received several bids from other companies prior to contacting Scribner & Sons Painting. Clinton Scribner came out to the our house to give me a bid. Clinton was very thorough explaining how he would pressure wash the house, caulk all areas that needed to be caulked and the prep work that would be done prior to painting. He also explained the painting process where the house would be sprayed, rolled and brushed and then sprayed again. Clinton provided me a bid the same day The time estimate given to me by Clinton was right on and the quality of the work was excellent. I give this company an A +.
Because of the excellent job done by Clinton I have scheduled him to paint my primary residence and vacation cabin this summer.

Today Scribner and Sons completed a bedroom wallpaper removal and painting project. Having used Clinton & Sons before and appreciating their work then, I hired them again. I am not surprised the work went extremely well. Timely, conscientiously, friendly, thoughtfully and skillfully accomplished work. The pricing was more than fair. I definitely will choose this paint company for my next project.
