Not happy with the quality of work! I was working with Monte on installing a new convertible top and upholstery in my 1966 Mustang. Monte seemed knowledgeable and experienced. After delivering my convertible top frame and patiently waiting a couple of months to start Monte left Perfect Stitch due to health reasons but Andrew the owner reassured me he would take care of it. Needless to say it took months longer than promised and I ended up visiting the shop about once per week to push for progress. After 4+ months (2 months overdue) I had my car back in my possession only to have an issue with the top immediately which they fixed but not happy about it. Now I’m installing a stereo system in my car and when I pulled the rear panel I saw this - see pic below. I’m not super happy about having to fix this. Very poor quality. I would not recommend them for any auto work!

Great job on the install and they went above and beyond the initial agreement and repaired the seat heaters and lumbar supports. See the before and after photos for my VW R32

Parts Sat for 9 months, Nothing was done. I guess someone else will get my business. Was really hoping these people would pull through as it looked like they do Quality work. No communication abut what was going on, had to call 4.5 months in to find out nothing had happened. Gave them another 4.5 months, then stopped by and picked my stuff up. I gave them a small project to see if they handled themselves right as I had much more upholstery to get done. They failed miserably. BUMMER

On August 4, 2020, I contacted Perfect Stitch Upholstery about redoing my dining room benches. The job consisted of replacing the foam cushion inserts and fabric covering of the seats and replacing the fabric on the existing foam inserts for the backs. An owner came to my house to get the measurements, I chose the fabric, left a deposit of $150 and was given an invoice showing a balance owing of $370.83 with delivery in three to six weeks. A month later, the shop had not even started on the cushions. Numerous excuses followed over the next several weeks, but finally I was told the fabric had arrived, however, they had only ordered enough fabric for the seats and not the backs. So they remeasured the area again, confirmed their error, and informed me they would have to reorder. More waiting. Then because their supplier didn’t have enough of that fabric left, I had to choose another fabric. I would ask to speak with Andrew, the owner, on the numerous occasions that I went into the shop. I was always told he wasn’t there. I kept leaving messages for him to call me. He never did. Finally, several weeks later, after threatening to take the job elsewhere, I was promised they would get right on it. Finally this week, just over four months from the day that I contacted them about the job, I was finally told the cushions were done. When they were delivered, I was very pleased with the workmanship. The person who made them did an excellent job. And then I was presented with the bill: $794.54 less my deposit of $150.00 leaving a balance of $644.54! I was told that they had originally not charged me for the back cushions, just the seats. Paying for work done is not the problem here, but AT NO TIME during the long, drawn out process was I ever informed that they had misquoted the job, or, since the cost would be $274 more, ask me if I still wanted to go ahead with it. The major problem is lack of communication both from the office staff and owner. Any updates I managed to get from them was because of my insistence. And to date, Andrew has still refused to contact me. So if you want a great end product, don’t mind getting a run-around for four months, and enjoy the surprise of being charged substantially more than what you were quoted, Perfect Stitch Upholstery is the place for you … but it’s definitely not for me!
