Overall I was pretty happy with the quote and the work done. I had asked about insulating through the brick on the front of our house and they assured me that they drill through the mortar, inject the insulation, and fill the holes with new mortar. The color wouldn't be identical but wouldn't be noticeable. I will let you decide by the attached photo. There are between 50 and 100 holes like this in the brick. Even as the wet mortar was drying, I asked the crew leader about the color and was assured it would be close. When I called and asked USA Insulation what they would do, they responded it was as close as they could get and they were satisfied. I will get white mortar from a mason I know to repair this as I'm not satisfied with the appearance.

I was disappointed in how much repair I had to do with the new plugs that were installed.

We have a nearly 100 year old home with hybrid insulation (old blown cellulose, newer batting and newer cellulose. This was a challenge as USA Insulation could not cover the newer cellulose, but they did their best with our balloon construction to fill what they could. There were cross beams that were not anticipated, and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because a crucial wire was cut during the process and we lost all the ceiling lights and fans on our lower level in the process. I don't fault them for it, though, because the placement of the wire was too close to the exterior wall, and they could not have know it was there from the exterior. They did offer to have an electrician come to fix it, but it was not necessary as my husband is a qualified electrician. I look forward to a more comfortable home, even though every wall could not be insulated.

Luckily I had a borescope. So I can check up on their work. There were a ton of holes they didn’t even try to fill. The color matching mortar looks like garbage and they might come fix it some day. On top of multiple spots they didn’t even bother to fill.
