Plumber told me he’d order the part for the issue and call back to arrange to have the drain repaired. No call back one week later. I spoke with the receptionist today. She said he didn’t order the part, likely wouldn’t, and recommended that I call a different company.

They were initially very prompt and knowledgable, however, after telling us what the issue was, they left tools at the house and didn't come back when they said they would. Or at all. We called a number of times, and we were assured that they'd come, and it took someone walking in and getting an emergency call to fix a gas leak. We've been waiting for them to come by with the part for a separate issue (which was discussed at the initial appointment) and they never have. It's been from Thanksgiving - Spring Break and they have yet to resolve the issue. Every time we've called, they've told us that they'd call back to set something up, and its been four months with radio silence.

I’ve had dripping faucets since I bought the house over four years ago. (The water waste I can’t even imagine) When we bought the house, we called another highly recommended local plumbing company who proceeded to treat me like an idiot and tell me that “faucets drip after you use them”, took my nice shower head and replaced it with a cheap one, and charged me a ton. I called back saying it wasn’t fixed, he came back and charged me again, still wasn’t fixed. Anyway, I was severely untrusting of any sort of contractor. The dripping got worse, so I gave these guys a shot. I got a call at 8am the next day, then another to say they were on their way an hour later. The gentlemen were incredibly respectful and spoke to me like an actual adult, not some idiot woman. They were patient with the chaos of dogs and kids, and guess what!? They actually fixed the flipping faucets.

If you don’t want continuous issues, I wouldn’t recommend Doe.

Our sewer line in one of our houses backed up in April, Doe came out, “cleaned” out the main line, then left, assuring us the problem was fixed. Then, a few weeks later, the problem persisted, ruining a brand new bathroom floor. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we called them again. We were told they “missed” the line where the basement toilet was (yeah, tree roots INSIDE the house; don’t think so). Not to worry though, they had fixed it this time.

Then, at the beginning of July, the toilet backed up again and ruined another bathroom floor. At this point, we knew something was wrong. We tried everything to get ahold of Doe because we didn’t want to pay for something that was very obviously their fault. We called, we left voicemails, we went to the office, and nothing (this was a Thursday). We finally got a call back from someone about 8 hours later who said he would come by that night but that it was “probably that the tree roots grew back already.” In 2 months!? He ended up no-showing us.

Anyways, we ended up having another company come out the next day. They ran the sewer line with a larger blade (to ACTUALLY get everything out). Not only this, but they had to use more than 100 feet of line to get out to the main line (Doe did neither).

When they pulled it out, it had an entire wad of tampons on the end of the blade. Something that had obviously been in the sewer line the entire time (since no one was living there) and Doe failed to retrieve BOTH times they cleaned out the line.

Needless to say, this entire ordeal has cost us $421.25 that we paid Doe for the first two visits (which I had paid before the third backup), the expense to the other plumber, the cost of the flooring the first time, and the cost of the flooring the second time which would have been avoided had they done it correctly. We’re in this about $2000 as of right now.

Not only this, but for the past two months it’s been since the third backup, I have tried to resolve this with Doe. We have called, left voicemails, talked to people, been to the office and EVERY time I leave a message and no one ever calls back OR I speak to someone who says the boss will call me.

All I wanted was to be reimbursed since it wasn’t done correctly. I wanted them to simply make it right. We own multiple properties and we are in real estate and we will not be using Doe or recommending them to anyone we do business with.

Had a great experience working with Brian. He was able to get me a quick estimate and worked my hot water replacement into their schedule. There was a broken part on my new water heater, no fault of theirs, but he helped me contact the manufacturer to have a replacement part sent overnight. He communicated with me through the process and I am all set with hot water now. Thank you, Brian.

Had a gas leak for about a week that was "non emergent" or big enough to do any damage. It was safe and not that bad. Told my partner she could light a lighter and it wouldn't do anything as I never seen him move so fast. He ignored us and left as fast as he could to avoid the consequences of this companies responsibility. I supposedly have a bill about to go to collections I've never received and my previous bills are current. I shouldn't have to pay for their mess up. Mistakes happen but own it. The first bill was around $300 for 4 pipes. A year later was $300 for 1 pipe after a generous reduction in price for questioning the rate. Just a bit sketch. Replaced the pipes for our new water heater and then suggested we replace the water heater after inspection and job repair. Will not be using them ever again. Just ridiculous.

My water heater developed a leak on a Saturday night. I called Doe, left a message and they got back to me pretty quickly. They also were able to come right away and check it out. The water heater did need to be replaced, since it was cracked and the turn off valve broke off in the guy's hand. They drained things good and we choice to wait until Monday to have it replaced. They came in the afternoon and got done without too much trouble.
Now we have HOT water and showers are much nicer.

Overall

I've used DOE for a while because they are honest and efficient. They've done repairs and new installs for us. They put in a new H2O heater when the old one just couldn't be saved and it was much more complicated than usual because we switched from electric to gas and had to relocate the unit. They suggested things to save on utility bills that really work. They typically charge less than others in town, their work is dependable and they are just plain nice.
